The reason is so simple it’s astonishing. It’s right there on the level of “one and one is two”… super basic.
Of course, if you haven’t heard about it before, it could be a little hard to believe. The thing is, it’s about facts, and the way your belief in those facts becomes important, is whether or not you implement the facts, try them out, see if they make a difference for you.
So, out with the facts already! right? Isn’t that what you’re thinking when there’s a long lead in and all you really want is the FACTS?
Things like colds, flu, even cancer are put off, held at bay, so to speak, by an alkaline body pH. That’s a higher pH. Or equally, you could say colds, flu, even cancer are at home, even encouraged, by a low body pH.
A low pH is acidic, while a higher pH is alkaline.
It can be a bit confusing that to achieve a higher, alkaline pH you need to eat acidic foods, like oranges and take ascorbic acid (vitamin C). At least I always found that confusing.
Symptoms of low pH:
- Aging appears more rapidly
- Bladder conditions
- Body temperature fluctuations
- Cardiovascular damage
- Complexion pale
- Digestion slows
- Eyelids inflame
- Fatigue and low energy
- Fingernails thin and split easily
- Free radical damage accelerates
- Gums inflamed and sensitive
- Hair is dull, ends split, falls out easily
- Hormonal problems
- Immune deficiency
- Infections become more common
- Joints become painful
- Kidney stones
- Legs cramp and spasm
- Lips crack at their corners
- Muscles ache
- Skin dry, flakes and is easily irritated
- Stomach acid becomes a problem
- Stress felt more easily and more often
- Teeth loose and painful
- Ulcers of mouth and stomach
- Weight gain
- Yeast/fungal problems
Key Symptoms of Low Body pH
Recently I was devastated by massive dizziness, some days better than others, for months. It became scary when a feeling of pressure around my skull began, as if something were pressing on my brain. At the same time it kept coming to mind that my grandmother died of a stroke.
Now, if I had thought in terms of pH and health from the outset, then the dizziness could have been eliminated months earlier. All I would have had to do was focus on key symptoms: Fatigue, Gums sensitive, Hair falling out, Stressed. I could easily have guessed: Infection.
If I had been tuned in to body pH and recognized the probability of an infection I could have immediately begun taking a vitamin C tablet every hour during the day with tea, water, kombucha, etc. to wipe out the infection and see if that got rid of the dizziness.
I’m tall and heavy, so for me the amount of vitamin C I took was a gram an hour. For someone else with a different body build a 250 mg tablet every hour might well do the trick.
Let’s say fatigue is a problem for you. Then you could easily try raising your body’s pH by taking vitamin C with the idea in mind of raising your body’s pH.
Say your gums are sensitive or you’ve got a niggling tooth ache. You could try raising your body’s pH with vitamin C, or by eating navel oranges every hour. A combination of both is probably a good plan.
If you have hair falling out, which is a sign of infection, using vitamin C is very likely to rid you of the infection and keep your hair on your head.
I once saw a telly interview with doctors talking about the huge, almost totally ignored problem of inflammation. It was their belief that inflammation was a leading cause of death because it was so prevalent and so ignored, like a silent killer.
Ever since the Swine Flu epidemic in 2008 I’ve kept vitamin C on hand in significant amounts, in case I got the flu. However, I never got the flu and I now think that’s because I’ve had a dental infection from old implants that I’ve addressed on a daily basis over the years with vitamin C. Only 2021 was so stressful that the amount of vitamin C that had previously worked was insufficient to stem the infection that led to the ongoing dizziness.
Besides having vitamin C on hand, real ascorbic acid, not some substitute pharma product, and possibly fresh navel oranges, you need to keep track of the effects. I made a chart to keep track of when I took vitamin C and magnesium, and during the time I thought the pressure on my brain could be a tumor, mushroom capsules.
By keeping a written account you are providing for yourself the data to assess whether you need to use more, if indeed you do, and to clearly see at what point the amount of vitamin C you were using began to solve the problem.
When I lived in London I had access to the National Health, effectively medicaid for all. It was not even remotely like the health care from doctors I had been accustomed to in the US.
Doctors’ surgeries, that’s what doctors’ offices are called in England, were lined with people waiting to be seen about allergies, colds, etc. So with the demand on the doctor’s time, there was not much of an examination, if any. Usually the doctor simply asked what was needed. For instance, I’d be given a prescription for a bottle of 250 Dalmane to sleep. That would save him successive visits.
It’s a good idea to begin learning basic things about your own health, to save time and frustration. The good to be had from raising your body pH is one of those things.
